    What is Lycopene?
    Lycopene is the red pigment which gives the ripe tomato and watermelon their bright red color. It is narrowly distributed in natural world. It is mainly existed in tomato, watermelon and present in much smaller amounts in other fruits and vegetables.

    Why Lycopene is important?
    Scientists believe that excess oxidative stress plays an important role in the initiation and promotion of atherosclerosis, cancer, cataract, arthritis and other degenerative diseases.
    Lycopene is a carotenoid with a unique chemical structure which consists of a long chain of conjugated double bonds, longer than in any other carotenoid. Molecular formula is C40H56 and molecular weight is 536.85. This configuration is responsible for Lycopene's ability to inactivate free radicals.
    Recent findings indicate that Lycopene may restrain and reduce the occurring rate of prostate cancer, womb cervical cancer, pancreatic cancer and vesica cancer etc. in effect.
